Finished!!!!

Okay, this doesn't happen to me a lot, so forgive me for being excited, but... I FINISHED something! That's right, me, the procrastinator, the UFO queen, has actually finished a scarf! In fact, I finished the most despicable, ugly thing I've ever worked on. (Okay, so it's not blocked yet, but I declare it finished nonetheless.) My sister-in-law, Nancy, requested a scarf, and she likes the colors green, teal, blue, brown, purple... etc. I found the perfect yarn and I cast on for it a LONG TIME AGO, but I couldn't bring myself to work on it because... well... frankly I hate it. I hate the colors (there's ONE color in the whole thing that I like. Really.) I don't like the texture of the yarn (Noro Kureyon, I know a lot of people love this yarn but I don't see it...), the pattern was so easy (Two weeknights with Warrick Scarf, linked in yesterday's post. But, yesterday I came to the conclusion that it's not going to get done unless I just suck it up and knit, so I did. Here's the results.

What do you guys think? And don't be shy, comment! I can't see your blog unless you comment on mine... and unless you comment by midnight tonight you don't win the prize... And now, I leave you, with two things. First, Halloween wishes. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! And secondly, a much needed furry picture.
All together now. Awwww....

New Rules... I promise this is the last one....

Okay... this has GOT to be the funniest thing ever. I love it ! It's a little bit from a guys point of view... but it's all true, and all funny!

New Rule: Stop giving me that pop-up ad for classmates.com ! There's a reason you don't talk to people for 25 years...because you don't particularly like them!? Besides, I already know what the captain of the football team is doing these days--mowing my lawn.

New Rule: Don't eat anything that's served to you out a window unless you're a seagull. People are acting all shocked that a human finger was found in a bowl of Wendy's chili. Hey, it cost less than a dollar. What did you expect it to contain?? Trout?

New Rule: Ladies, leave your eyebrows alone. Here's how much men care about your eyebrows: do you have two of them? Okay, we're done.

New Rule: There's no such thing as flavored water. There's a whole aisle of this crap at the supermarket, water, but without that watery taste. Sorry, but flavored water is called a soft drink. You want flavored water? Pour some scotch over ice and let it melt. That's your flavored water.

New Rule: Stop screwing with old people. Target is introducing a redesigned pill bottle that's square, with a bigger label. And the top is now the bottom. And by the time grandpa figures out how to open it, his ass will be in the morgue. Congratulations, Target, you just solved the Social Security crisis.

New Rule: The more complicated the Starbucks order, the bigger the asshole. If you walk into a Starbucks and order a 'decaf grande half-soy, half-low fat, iced vanilla, double-shot, gingerbread cappuccino, extra dry, light ice, with one sweet-n'-Low, and one NutraSweet,' ooh, you're a huge asshole.

New Rule: I'm not the cashier! By the time I look up from sliding my card, entering my PIN number, pressing 'Enter,' verifying the amount, deciding no, I don't want cash back, and pressing 'Enter' again, the kid who is supposed to be ringing me up is standing there eating my Almond Joy.

New Rule : Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ass. And it translates to 'beef with broccoli.' The last time you did anything spiritual, you were praying to God you weren't pregnant. You're not spiritual. You're just high.

New Rule : Competitive eating isn't a sport. It's one of the seven deadly sins. ESPN recently televised the U.S. Open of Competitive Eating, because watching those athletes at the poker table was just too damned exciting. What's next, competitive farting??? Oh wait!? They're already doing that. It's called 'The Howard Stern Show.'

New Rule: I don't need a bigger mega M&Ms. If I'm extra hungry for M&Ms; I'll go nuts and eat two.

New Rule: No more gift registries. You know, it used to be just for weddings. Now it's for babies and new homes and graduations from rehab. Picking out the stuff you want and having other people buy it for you isn't gift giving, it's the white people version of looting.

New Rule: and this one is long overdue: No more bathroom attendants. After I zip up, some guy is offering me a towel and a mint like I just had sex with George Michael. I can't even tell if he's supposed to be there, or just some freak with a fetish. I don't want to be on your web cam, dude. I just want to wash my hands.

New Rule: When I ask how old your toddler is, I don't need to know in months. '27 Months' 'He's two,' will do just fine. He's not a cheese. And I didn't really care in the first place.

New Rule: If you ever hope to be a credible adult and want a job that pays better than minimum wage, then for God's sake don't pierce or tattoo every available piece of flesh. If so, then plan your future around saying, 'Do you want fries with that?'

Happy Halloween!

I normally wouldn't post something like this on my blog... but I laughed so hard when I read it that I cried, so I figured there was no harm in sharing with everyone else. Happy Halloween Everyone!

Questions that Haunt me

Now with Knitting content!

So I thought I'd finally talk about the stuff I've been knitting. I actually haven't been working on much. I really need to get going, I mean, I have a lot of Christmas presents going. But I'm only working on two currently. My mom's socks...

Which are, as I said, almost to the point where I start the heel. I love the colors. The picture is fairly accurate, but they're maybe just a little bit darker than that. Not quite so... cheerful. They look just like a forest in the fall. She's going to LOVE them. Then I've been working on Nancy's scarf...

Which is maybe about three-quarters done. I absolutely despise it. I hate the pattern (Two Weeknights with Warrick Brown... how she got it done in two nights...) There's nothing wrong with it, it's just boring. I hate the texture of the yarn, and I hate the colors. I don't think they compliment each other. But whatever, as long as Nancy likes it... And then, of course, my only non-Christmas present I'm working on. Icarus.

I still LOVE this shawl, but the long rows are absolutely killing me. I can't wait to finish it. Here's a close up of the detail so far.

So, that's all for knitting content. Don't forget, tomorrow's the last day for the contest!

I'm going to leave you with this to think about. It's from the Hollywood Insider Blog on Entertainmentweekly.com.

"Guest blogger: Taylor Hanson on AIDS in Africa
Oct 27, 2007, 12:24 AM | by Shirley Halperin

Each week, Hollywood Insider will ask one music maker to share his or her opinions about whatever he or she is passionate about. Upcoming guest bloggers will include Serj Tankian, Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne and Fall Out Boy's Joe Trohman. This Friday's contribution, by musician Taylor Hanson, is especially pressing. (BTW, Tay's brother, Isaac, is "doing fine," after having surgery earlier this month for a near-fatal form of pulmonary embolism). Consider this your weekend send-off: something to ponder as you take a short break from the biz.

Take a Walk, people.
by Taylor Hanson

What is the cause of our time? What is our generation going to be remembered for? Are we destined to be defined by party-hopping celebrities and shock-value news coverage? These are some of the questions I think about and pose to those that have joined us on 1 of the 25 barefoot walks (35 before we are finished) that we have done in cities across the country trying to encourage action – focused on poverty and AIDS in Africa.

Over a cup of coffee and some other crazy juice that was probably slipped into our lattes, I brainstormed with TOMS shoes founder Blake Mycoskie about how we could help. TOMS is unique in that it donates a pair of shoes, every time you buy a pair, to a child livivng in poverty. Blake and I met in August, and three weeks later, through our shared goal of galvanizing action and the band's decision to incorporate giving into our businesses, we kicked off The Walk Tour with TOMS shoes in toe.

Our own quest began when we went to Africa in early 2006 to learn about the issues with AIDS and poverty at its worst. There, we recorded two African children’s choirs and began our efforts to use our music with the song "Great Divide" to support direct action, sending funds straight to doctors and buying medicine with the proceeds of GD on iTunes. What unifies the message of a pair of shoes, or a song, or any action, is that we each have something we can use.

My experience in Africa was, in a word, life-changing. And also inspiring. There, you have a situation where kids are born with a disease, had no choice in the matter, and somehow pushed through — they don't act like victims, they don't feel hopeless — I saw that over and over again. The money that comes from download sales of "Great Divide" goes to a hospital whose main focus is children and mothers suffering with AIDS. With all the advances in AIDS research, there are drugs you can administer to mothers that, if taken a month before giving birth, will effectively stop the transfer of the disease from mother to child. That's life-saving medicine, but what's needed is the manpower to administer it, the people there who are looking for real solutions to a pandemic that's affected an entire generation.

It's true of any cause: if it's not on your doorstep, it feels inconvenient, so it's easily ignored. There had been a wave of money that's come from the states, but we're not facing a death sentence like in the '80s. Still, this is relevant to us. Tulsa, Oklahoma, where we're from, the average American town, is now among the top five states in number of AIDS-infected cases. It's just as important now as it ever was.

Through each stop of the tour, we invite fans and anyone else who would like to take part, to join us for a one-mile walk. The guys and I do it barefoot and focus on what it feels like to be in need and how many impoverished people have needs as simple as a pair of shoes.

What began as a humble idea has steadily grown. We've had thousands of fans, local artists and other supporters come along and walk. In a few days, we will celebrate the first wave of TOMS shoes being delivered to Africa with a special walk in West Hollywood on Tuesday, Oct. 30th, along with a performance to thank those who take part. Please, join us at 10:00AM at West Hollywood City Hall, then on to Sunset Boulevard.

The Walk is just the beginning. Following this first leg of the tour we, along with members of the TOMS shoes staff, will be delivering thousands of shoes to children in South Africa one by one, reminding us that a simple action from an average person can produce something extraordinary. Now there is nothing wrong with a party hop, and no doubt we can't all put our day-job on the back burner and become activists…or can we? After all, everyone can walk.

Fun times...

Okay, so I've been hanging out with my friend Emmy all weekend again. We had a pretty good time. On Friday we went to see High School Musical at the Palace theater in Columbus (minimal knitting. We paid 65 dollars a piece for the tickets, I didn't really want to spend any time not paying complete attention). I liked the play a lot, it wasn't nearly as kiddish as the movie (which we watched last night.) Then, Saturday, we went to see The OMEA Marching Band State Finals, which was a lot of fun, but it was really cold. Last time we went, we stayed almost all day. This time we only stayed a couple hours. I miss marching band (I know, geek. Whatever, I loved it) and everything, but... I was kinda bored. The bands weren't very good. Anyway, I got a lot of knitting done on my mom's Christmas sock #1, I'm loving it. I'm almost to the heel, which is pretty fast for me, for a plain sock. Also did a few rows on Icarus... which took an entire football game. Seriously. Long. Rows. I'm over it lol. Then today I went to my parents house, and I planned to get some done on Icarus while we watched the Steelers game. I didn't. *rolls her eyes at herself* Anyway, the needles fell out of my STR Lucy plain sock, so I think I might use them to start garden path #2 instead of trying to fix it. Anyway, that's all. Maybe pictures tomorrow.

Bad Blogger

Sorry guys, I've been a bad blogger lately. There's just so much going on, and almost no knitting to speak of. I know, shocking right? I mean I'm working on my mom's Christmas present but that's about it. So hopefully I'll get something done this weekend and I'll be back to your regularly scheduled daily blogging on hopefully Monday, definitely Tuesday. See ya soon!

Autumn is here! Hooray!

Ok, so what you should all know before reading this post is this: I HATE winter. With a violent violent extreme passion. This probably comes from my extreme hatred of being cold (and the fact that I once fell on the ice and cracked my tail-bone...) but I digress. I like the way winter looks... in pictures. Not in person. But do you know what I like the best about winter? AUTUMN! Ok, I know I make no sense whatsoever but who cares, it's my blog and if I want to speak Krystalese, than I am queen and I can decide to do just that. Right, so, Autumn.

That is what it looks like just behind my apartment. So, so pretty. (BTW these pictures come courtesy of me being up after almost no sleep last night and being extremely hyper this morning.) Here's another one, just for my Angie. Hi Angie!

Pretty, no? You miss it up there in cold Canada don't ya? He he he... sorry. On to more personal stuff. Here's my hubby with his girl sleeping on his lap during my birthday party Saturday.

Isn't that precious? She's so sweet... And here's possibly the saddest birthday card I've ever gotten. I had to take a picture. See, my dad hasn't been well for a while, and we know this, but he refuses to go to the doctor. He's as sure as we all are that he has lung cancer and he's scared that if he goes to the doctor, he'll be dead in six months. I think he means that either they'll treat him and the treatment will kill him, or, since he could refuse treatment, just the knowing it might kill him. Anyway, he seems so much older than he is and he shakes really bad... and here's his signature on my birthday card.

Look at the little hearts. I saw that and I just started crying... I mean they're so cute and so unlike my dad to draw little hearts... Ahem.

Ok, sorry, had to have a short break there to cheer myself up. On to sunnier things.

Literally. That's my friend Emmy and I in her car taking a pic of ourselves. I like it. I know, I know, you're really here for knitting pictures and news, not sad family stuff and pictures of the trees... well, here it is. I am officially working on Chart two of Icarus, which, if you know Icarus, is a really really really good thing. Means I'm close to the end. Hopefully it's done in the next month. I want to have it for Thanksgiving. Anyway, no picture of that cause you all know it's just a big wine colored blob. Today, I got this in the mail.

That, my friends, is my mom's Christmas present. Well, no, not yet, but it's getting there. (By the way, that would be Socks that rock Medium weight in the color Rocktober.) Already today it went from that, to this...

(You gotta love the sophisticated system, huh?) Then it turned into a ball...

Which was then, turned into...

A toe! I'm pretty sure these are just going to be generic toe-up socks... but I dunno, I might add something like the things in Dublin Bay to the top. Who knows. All I know is I need to get over my hatred of Stockinette, suck it up, and knit. Ok, now these next two pictures are totally and completely whacko. First of all... I was stupid. But you all know how much I hate gauge swatches. I mean, no matter what they lie anyway, right? So, I didn't do one because I was thinking to myself, "You ALWAYS get 8 stitches to an inch in st st on size ones with this yarn. What makes you think this color will be any different?" So, right after I finished the toe, I started thinking. "Wait. Don't you usually knit str with lightweight?" So, in horror, I get out the tape measure, take a deep breath, and count. Eight stitches per inch. So I count again. Same. Well, I think to myself, you would get different gauge on the toe since it's worked back and forth, so why don't you measure a different toe and check your gauge there. So I did. On my garden path sock. Right stitches per inch. Are you sensing my confusion at this point? Totally different size yarn, same size needles... same gauge. It makes absolutely no sense, but, being a blogger, I took pictures to prove it.

There's the garden path sock...

And the Roctober socks. This so freaking totally blows my mind. So leave me a comment if you can explain... or maybe it's just me, maybe I can't count. Who knows. In any case, it looks the same size at the other one...

P.S. Think my mom will like the colors? She LOVES fall, and the colors, and she said her favorites are earthy tones. So... what do you think? If you comment you might win a prize...

Buckeye birthday

So, today was very exciting. My mom, sister, and friend Emmy came over, as did her friend and his kids, and we had a little buckeye party. My mom and sister gave me their gifts, which I loved. My mom gave me a little pumpkin scarecrow guy, fall potholders, and two buckeye bowls. my sister got me a long sleeve t-shirt and a regular t-shirt that are both buckeyes. And a funny card. It says "I heard Insanity is hereditary" and then you open it and it says "we are so screwed." and then birthday wishes. And my mom and dad's card was sweet... then Richard (Emmy's friend) gave me the best gift of all. A Hanson CD I didn't have! I was so excited... and Dave got me these.

They're soooo gorgeous. Anyway, not a lot of knitting done the past couple of days... although I did finish the worst part of Icarus. I'm soooo glad that's over. On to the fun/hard part lol. That's all for today. Don't forget about the contest! :)

Happy Birthday to me!!!!!!

Ok, just so you all know... I love my birthday! It's the best day of the whole year! I get presents and people all call me and talk to me just because it's my birthday and it's always just a really really great day! And secretly, I think that the reason I like them so much is because it's my birthday, and I'm the only one I know getting presents. I know, I'm horrible, right? So, to celebrate my birthday, and to make me feel like I'm not to most selfish person in the world, we present... My 22nd birthday contest!

Ok, so here's the deal. Everyone who comments on my blog from now until October 31st telling me what their favorite sock yarn is gets entered. That's it! Just tell me your favorite sock yarn. But you have to promise to keep commenting... I mean, I know that someone out there reads my blog, and I'd love to reciprocate, but I can't if you don't comment, right? The prize? Well, I'm on a serious budget right now, but the prize will include two skeins of Patons sws... in a surprise colorway. I know, I know, it's cheesy, but... you'll also get a surprise, and maybe some Halloween goodies. So how about it? Who's interested? :)

In knitting related news... I'm very very very close to being done with the long boring part of Icarus. Here's the hugeness of it. I know you probably can't tell, but trust me. It's huge.

And here's a close up of the edge. Why, yes, I DID notice that these pictures aren't in color. That's because for whatever reason my camera refused to capture the color today so instead of showing you a picture of a purple Icarus... and my ugly yellow chair... you get no color! Muah ha ha... ahem. Anyway, where was I? Oh, yes. The edge.

And here's a fun shot. This would be, on the left, the skein of yarn I'm working with, and on the right, the other skein, that I haven't started yet. Whew! Puts it into perspective, at least for me...

Here's the other thing I've been working on lately, besides my s-i-l's scarf (see yesterday...) is this Branching out scarf. I've posted about it before if you wanna know more, but here's a crooked picture of it. Once again, the bright blue is not even close to being true to color, the others are fine. Oh, crap, now you get to see the Ugly yellow horror... eh, oh well.

And, last... the reason I don't really like Noro. (Again, see yesterday...) Isn't that... just... weird? (Sorry the colors are seriously whacked. I don't get it. My camera's just having a weird day I guess...)

Don't forget about the contest!!

Working on Christmas Presents

Yeah I know, it's not nearly time for Christmas but I figured I might as well get started, since I really really want to make something for a lot of people. The one thing I really want to get started on, I can't, because I need to buy the yarn. That would by my mom's socks. I'm getting str for her, I don't remember what color though. I'm going to make her some toe up socks, though I can't decide which ones. I'm thinking just a plain sock. I dunno, lol. I'm making scarves it seems for everyone, except maybe my sister in law, Linda, I might make her some mittens. I was going to make Dave's mom socks too but it's too hard cause I don't know her exact size. Anyway... here's some pics of the thing I've been working on lately, being my sis in law's scarf. It's the "Two weeknights with Warrick" scarf, and I'm using Noro Kureyon color 147. I really like the pattern, it's super easy, but I really don't like the yarn for some reason. I mean, it's spun weird... like some places it's soooo thin but then sometimes it's super thick and it's just... I know that what the yarn is supposed to do but I really don't like it. Anyway, here's the whole thing. The colors are close but not exact. They're weird too... like, there's never two colors that are the same, in the whole thing. It's weird.

And a close-up. Sorry they're blurry. I didn't realize it till just now and I'm not retaking them so...

What do you think? (Please, feel free to comment...)

I can't take the insanity anymore!!!

Ok, so I've been working on Icarus (hence the title of this post...) I don't have any pictures but I didn't bother... the needles aren't big enough to stretch it out and without doing that it looks exactly like it did in this post. So you don't get any pictures. I have 347 stitches, and even though when I knit at my normal resting speed I get like, 26 stitches per inch, and that means it should take me... roughly thirteen and a half minutes to knit a row... no. It takes me about 25 minutes every row. I'm not sure why. Maybe I'm stopping and not realizing it... but today, so far, I've done 3 rows, and I'm actually hoping to get 3 more in... you can see how I'd be losing my mind.

And no, in case you wondered... I did not cast on for the second garden path sock. Though, I did work on the scarf I'm making for my sister-in-law, and I looked at loksins for a minute. I'm actually thinking about Christmas. I mean, I need to make the two scarves I have going, plus I want to make a pair of mittens for my other sister-in-law, and two pairs of socks, one for my mom and Dave's mom... plus Emmy wants a knitted elephant... oy. I'd better work my three rows of Icarus fast, and get started on those presents... oh darn, I have to buy more sock yarn... :) (Actually, I have some black pace, I might make Dave's mom's socks out of that. We'll see)

I know I haven't done a good thing of the day in a while, but I'm going through a hard time and I can't think of any. So today, my good thing of the day (because it makes me sad which then makes me happy...) is the song "One More" by Hanson. Good song.

I'm back!

Wow, it's been a few days again, huh? Sorry about that. We had a internet connection problem. It's fixed now. I have good news. I have a finished sock! Sorry if it's way obvious that I'm in love with this sock. I think I've taken about a billion pics of it. But I'm proud of it. Anyway, without the internet for the past few days, I've gotten quite a bit of knitting done. At least, that's how I feel... besides finishing the garden path sock, I got 6 rs rows done on Icarus. Which is a lot, since each row takes me almost a half hour. That's like, 6 hours lol. I also got some more done on the branching out, which I'm still loving, but I'm pretty much over it. Now, I'm going to distract you all from the fact that I get bored so easily with pictures. Here's the heel, just after I finished it. I was laughing because it looked like a toe...

There was a small hole on either side of the heel, but I fixed them. Here's the front of the sock at that point, on top of my socks. Go ahead Angie, laugh. Call me lazy.....

And here's the finished sock.

Look at that gorgeous heel. You know you want to see more of it.

Ok, all those pictures are true to color, but here's a better picture of the pattern.

I love love love it. In case you didn't know already, it's Wendy Johnson's Garden path socks. I did the smaller size and they're still a little bit big. Yarn is Socks that Rock Little bunny foo foo. I modified the pattern a little, in that I did the toe she shows how to do in her book, rather than the one she says to do in the patten; I did a short row heal, where she has you doing a slip stitch heel; and I did knit two, purl one ribbing instead of k1 p1... well, because I can. Just for Angie, here's the pic of how I hold my yarn.

And for everyone else, furry goodness.

I couldn't catch Storm. He's wild. But isn't Mattie so sweet?

Babysitting fun

Sorry it's been a few days. I've been busy. We had a girls night at my sister's on Saturday, and then on Sunday Richard came down and we hung out with him. Today we went to Emmy's sister's house and babysat for a couple hours. I love love love her baby Joshua. He's two months old... but he looks six months old lol. See?

I held him for a while and fed him, and a little while after he fell asleep I laid him down.

He's so sweet! He stayed right where I laid him... for like, almost 2 hours.

There's Emmy... playing outside with the kids.

There's Madyson, playing on the slide...

and in the toy box! She actually shut herself in there... Anyway, no knitting content because I haven't really done much knitting. I'm sure I'll have something tomorrow.

And she knits, too

That's right people. I actually DO knit and post pictures. Sometimes. I've been working on my garden path socks. Yes it's taking me a long time to make them. Yes, I just knit that slow. Get over it. (Yes Angie, you still have that one on me. You're so much faster than I am...) I LOVE the way it's striping. It's so perfect. Here's the back first.

And here's the front. Isn't it gorgeous?

Pretty much the only other thing I've been working on lately is that branching out scarf. I love love love love the colors in it.

Once again, that bright blue color is wrong, the rest are perfect. Hmm... mostly. They're the tiniest bit darker. Just a tiny bit though. And, a horrible puppy picture (I just can NOT get them to look at the camera... they ARE looking, but their heads are turned. What's up with that? I know I know, they're just being submissive but give it a rest already...)

Aren't they the cutest?

The good thing for today is my garden path socks. I love the pattern and it's very calming and easy to knit. Very relaxing. Very.

P.S. The other day, Richard said to me "Don't you get really impatient, knitting that? I mean it looks like it'd take a really long time." I told him "No no, see I don't knit to get stuff done. I do it cause I can."

Small Update

So, today Emmy's friend Richard, who she met at the Hanson concert a couple weeks ago, came over to hang out with him. He's super nice. He even bought her flowers. Here they are. Aren't they cute?

We went to see Mr. Woodcock, and I got like, 7 or 8 rounds done on the sock. That's not many, considering it's a 90 minute movie, but that was the first time I got any real knitting done during a movie theater movie. It was just my generic sock. I was smart enough to not grab one with a chart to follow. Then we came home, played some games, and then we went for a drive, just to do it. That was pretty fun. I'm super tired now though lol.

Best wishes to Isaac Hanson, who's in the hospital. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

Good thing for the day is new friends I guess. Pretty lame but... what can I say? :)

Damnit does not equal 32!

So earlier, Angie was making a chart for Branching Out, which has a chart but we didn't like the way it looked, cause it was too hard to read. So anyway, she was making the key, and without thinking she put "O = yo" and it changed it to "O = 32" and she was like, "damn it, doesn't equal 32..." to herself and I started laughing, because I didn't know what she was talking about over the phone, and so I told her that was my new thing. "Damn it does not equal 32!!"

Speaking of Branching out, I have almost a foot done unstretched. Wanna see it? Too bad, you're gonna.

The bright blue isn't nearly that bright, but all the other colors look right. Weird... Here's the progress on my "Little Bunny Garden Path" socks.

Aren't they awesome? I love them. My happy thing for today is my puppy Storm. He knows that I'm not doing good (because of the cold I guess...) and he's always right there. See? Ok... maybe not... he knows I want to take his picture and now he won't sit still... aha! Got him. Now... if only the computer would behave... aha! Ok, now the much coveted semi-crappy picture of Storm!

Today was much better

Today was a much better day. Except, ya know, for the cold and stuff. I went to my mom's house and spent some time with my dad. I also went shopping with my mom, and she helped me buy a new outfit. It's jeans and a green shirt. I'll get my picture in them Wednesday probably. I only got a little knitting done because while I was playing dominoes with my dad I was going to work on my sock, but I accidentally left a dpn in my friend's car. Good thing for the day? New clothes that fit, of course!

Bad day

So today started out great. But it went downhill fast this evening. Dave and I had a fight and... I'm just not feeling good, and my ear is killing me. So it just sucked. But I got some sws today and I cast on for Branching Out for a Christmas gift. Here's a picture.

And here's what my Garden path socks look like now.

So pretty. But all the pink is on the bottom so far lol. Here's my husband, being a dork when he was cutting his hair.

Like his hair? And here's Emmy with Mattie being all loving. So sweet... the dog, not Emmy lol.

Here's a better picture of my sweet girl. Again, Mattie not Emmy.

Wow... creepy eyes Mattie. Creepy creepy. But so cute, isn't she? Ok, I don't really have a happy thing today, so for my happy thing, go here. Ok... she hasn't added it yet... but it's pictures of my best friend's new niece, Olivia. She's so cute...
